Job Description

Summary Webberville Middle & High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Varsity Girls Track Coach. This part-time position is responsible for developing and leading the track and field program for our varsity girls team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and motivating environment that encourages student-athletes to excel both on and off the track, while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and conduct daily track and field practices, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all athletes. Develop training programs tailored to the skill levels and needs of individual athletes, focusing on technique, strength, and endurance. Monitor and evaluate athlete performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement. Foster a culture of teamwork, discipline, and respect among team members, promoting good sportsmanship at all times. Coordinate and oversee the logistics of track meets, including travel arrangements, equipment management, and team communication. Collaborate with other coaching staff and school administration to align the track program with school goals and policies. Maintain clear communication with athletes, parents, and school officials regarding team expectations, schedules, and performance updates. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols, including adherence to the rules set forth by the governing athletic association. Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on best practices and trends in track and field coaching. Requirements Previous coaching experience in track and field or a related sport, preferably at the high school level. Strong knowledge of track and field techniques, training methods, and competition strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice and competition schedules. First Aid and CPR certification required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe upon hiring. A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes, ensuring a balanced approach to athletics and education. Must pass a background check and meet all school district employment requirements.
