Summary Webberville Middle & High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Varsity Boys Baseball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baseball, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive team environment. This seasonal position requires the coach to develop players' skills, promote teamwork, and uphold the values of sportsmanship and respect within the program. Responsibilities Plan and conduct daily practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies. Organize and oversee all aspects of the varsity baseball program, including scheduling games, managing equipment, and coordinating team travel. Develop and implement a competitive game strategy, including scouting opponents and analyzing game performance. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth among players. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and player development. Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement. Ensure compliance with all school and athletic department policies, as well as state and national regulations governing high school athletics. Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the overall success of the athletic program. Attend coaching clinics and professional development opportunities to stay current on coaching techniques and trends in the sport. Requirements Previous coaching experience at the high school level or equivalent experience in playing baseball. Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the baseball season. First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain prior to the season. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Background check clearance as required by school district policies. A commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
