Job Description

Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) - Fergus Falls, MN Are you passionate about student success both in the classroom and on the field? M State is seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional to serve as our Head Softball Coach and Faculty Member on the Fergus Falls campus beginning January 2027. This unique opportunity combines collegiate coaching leadership with teaching responsibilities, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on students' academic and athletic experiences. What You'll Do As the Head Softball Coach and Faculty Member, you will: Lead and manage all aspects of M State's softball program, including recruiting, practices, competition scheduling, team travel, and student-athlete development. Monitor athlete eligibility and ensure compliance with NJCAA and institutional requirements. Manage the softball budget and support fundraising efforts. Teach courses in a credentialed discipline and create engaging, student-centered learning experiences. Develop curriculum, assess student learning, and contribute to departmental and college initiatives. Participate in college committees, professional development, and collaborative campus activities. Qualifications Candidates must meet faculty credentialing requirements in one of the following disciplines: Business English Mathematics Biology History Physics Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in one of the disciplines listed above; or Master's degree in any field with at least 18 graduate semester credits in one of the listed disciplines. Preferred Qualifications Collegiate softball coaching experience. Experience teaching at a community or technical college. Commitment to student success and inclusive excellence. Experience working with diverse student populations. Budget management and program administration experience. CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain certification. Compensation The assignment may be up to a full-time load and includes both coaching and teaching responsibilities.

Per-Credit Salary:
$1,435.56 to $2,396.43 Initial salary placement is based on education and experience in accordance with the faculty contract. Why M State?
