Job Description

Part-Time Strength & Fitness Coach PMPT Small Group Strength Training - Allamuchy, NJ $25/hour | Part-Time | Flexible Schedule PMPT Small Group Strength Training is looking for a Part-Time Strength & Fitness Coach to join our growing community. PMPT was created to bring a true small group personal training model to the Hackettstown area — something that very few fitness businesses locally offer. Our sessions typically include 8-12 members and combine the individualized coaching of personal training with the energy and community of a group. We work with adults of different ages, abilities, and fitness levels, modifying exercises to meet each person where they are. For someone looking to build a career in fitness, this is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in coaching, hospitality, client retention, sales, and the business side of running a small group training program. What You'll Do Coach small group strength training sessions of approximately 8-12 members. Teach proper exercise technique and modify exercises for different abilities and needs. Provide coaching, encouragement, and motivation throughout each session. Build genuine relationships with members and help create a welcoming, positive environment. Help new trial members feel comfortable and confident from their first session. Learn how to match prospective members with training options that fit their goals and schedules. Learn the basics of our CRM, scheduling system, promotions, and member management. Set up and break down training sessions and help keep the facility clean, organized, and safe. Arrive approximately 15-30 minutes before scheduled sessions to prepare. Assist with occasional administrative responsibilities as the role develops. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is dependable, positive, personable, and passionate about strength training. You don't need to come into this position knowing everything. You do need to have a solid background and understanding of strength training , but PMPT will help develop you as a coach and teach you how we run our small group training sessions. You'll begin by learning our coaching system and working alongside an experienced coach. As your confidence and ability develop, you'll gradually take on more responsibility. You will not be expected to coach sessions independently until both you and PMPT feel that you're fully prepared and confident to do so. We're looking for someone who is willing to learn, receptive to feedback, comfortable working with different personalities and fitness levels, and genuinely wants to provide a great experience for our members. Certifications CPR/First Aid certification will be required before coaching independently. If you don't currently have it, PMPT will cover the cost of obtaining your CPR/First Aid certification. A Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) credential is preferred but not required. For the right candidate, PMPT is also willing to help cover the cost of obtaining a personal training certification. We're more interested in finding the right person who has a strong foundation in strength training, enjoys working with people, and is eager to learn and develop as a coach. What You'll Learn This position is more than simply coaching workouts. You'll receive hands-on experience learning: How to confidently coach 8-12 clients at the same time. How to modify strength training for different ages, abilities, and limitations. How to provide excellent service and hospitality. How to create an experience that keeps members coming back. How to work with new trials and prospective members. How the day-to-day operations of a growing fitness business work. Because small group personal training is still relatively uncommon in our area, this is a unique opportunity to learn the model firsthand while being developed into a confident small group coach. Schedule & Compensation $25/hour The schedule is flexible , with the position initially requiring approximately 1-2 days per week . Shifts will typically be around 3-4 hours . There is potential for the position, hours, and responsibilities to grow as PMPT continues to expand. If you're passionate about strength training, enjoy working with people, and want an opportunity to learn, develop, and gain real coaching experience , we'd love to hear from you.
