approximately 1 hour monthly Position Type Limited Duration Posting Number 20110704C&A Position Summary Information Job Description Summary Eastern Oregon University ( EOU ) is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at its main campus in La Grande, OR. The assistant coach will collaborate closely with the head coach to create, review, and communicate in-season weight room programming designed to build speed, strength, and overall athleticism in student-athletes, providing actionable feedback to optimize their physical performance. This is a part-time, limited duration position, spanning from August to November. Key Competencies The Eastern Oregon University Assistant Soccer Coach is expected to adhere to the NAIA Coaches Code and EOU's Athletic Department's guiding principles: (1) Support the physical, emotional, social, and mental development of student-athletes through a robust system of care and support that produces quality student-athlete experiences. (2) Reflect on high standards of academic excellence. (3) A competent pursuit of athletic excellence shown by competing for Frontier Conference titles and participating in NAIA postseason play by advancing to the national championships. (4) Embrace the responsibility for equitable treatment and promotion of diversity, acceptance, and inclusion. (5) Encourage department innovation for enhanced success, and cultivate a mindset for growth, professional development, work-life integration, and department financial vitality. (6) Promote community engagement and student-athlete character development through respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. (7) Strictly adhere to the highest level of fiscal control and full compliance with all governing associations with transparency and integrity. (8) Engage EOU alumni through collaborative efforts that generate "Lifelong Mountie" loyalty and support. Responsibilities Meet with the head coach for approximately 1 hour each month to create and review the in-season weight room program. Monitor weight progressions provided by the head coach. Provide feedback on new or improved workouts in the weight room. Provide feedback on how to pair lifting with conditioning. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree One (1) year of collegiate athletic lifting experience. Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Eastern Oregon University will not sponsor applicants for employment visas. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Three (3) years of collegiate athletic lifting experience.
