The primary duty of this position is to teach, instruct, coach, and train student-athletes in cheerleading skills, athletic performance, safety, team concepts, and related performance techniques within an educational athletics environment. Working under the direction of the Head Cheer Coach/Spirit Coordinator, this position helps plan and lead practices; teaches and demonstrates proper stunting, tumbling, jumps, choreography, conditioning, and game-day material; designs skill-development progressions and practice plans; evaluates student-athlete performance; and provides individualized instruction to improve performance. Administrative responsibilities, including scheduling, travel, fundraising, equipment, recruiting support, and event coordination, are secondary, incidental, and supportive of the role's instructional purpose. This is a 12-month position with an 80% full-time workload. Required Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Required Related Experience Cheerleading, coaching, and competitive experience required, preferably at the collegiate and/or All-Star level. Required License/Registration/Certification CPR/First Aid certification and completion of necessary coaching, cheer safety, risk management, or athlete-safety certifications required or must be obtained within the timeframe established by the University. Desirable Related Experience Ability to teach, train, and instruct student-athletes in an educational or developmental setting. Experience designing practice plans, skill-development progressions, choreography, game-day material, conditioning activities, and team instruction. Desirable License/Registration/Certification Cheer safety, stunting, tumbling, athlete-safety, or related coaching certifications preferred.
