Varsity Boys' Basketball assistant coach

Level:

High School (grades 9-12)

Our coaches play a vital role in supporting student-athletes as they develop skills, build confidence, and represent Ram Nation with pride.

Responsibilities include:

Defensive Focus:

Instill a defense-first mindset within the program, prioritizing relentless effort, sound positioning, and strong individual and team accountability on the floor.

Skill Development:

Teach fundamental basketball skills and design custom-tailored drills to elevate individual player performance at every position. Attention to

Detail:

Maintain sharp observational awareness during practices, quickly identifying and correcting technical or execution errors in real time.

Film Study:

Break down game film efficiently to evaluate player performance, identify areas for improvement, and scout opponent tendencies.

In-Game Management:

Support the head coach with rotation management, statistical tracking, and real-time strategic adjustments during games. Assist in planning and running practices that reflect program standards and season goals. Serve as a positive role model, holding student-athletes to high standards of conduct, effort, and sportsmanship both on and off the court. Build strong, trust-based relationships with players, families, and fellow coaches that reflect Allen Academy's commitment to community. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director.

Qualifications:

Prior coaching or playing experience in Basketball preferred Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Commitment to promoting positive character development and academic success Ability to support athletes of varying skill levels

Compensation:

This is a paid coaching position. Compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
