Provide a safe environment and training for consumers to achieve community socialization skills, skills in daily living and community activities. Should be creative, energetic and crafty.

JOB SUMMARY

The ISS Instructor will assist consumers with training goals as outlined in their individual service plan. Provide a safe environment and training for consumers to achieve community socialization skills, skills in daily living and community activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must have a valid driver's license for the purpose of transporting. 2. Insurable - 3. Current 1st Aid/CPR certification 4. Ability to lift to 50 lbs. 5. Strong oral and writing communication skills. 6. Ability to prepare written reports.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

1. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent preferred. 2. At least 2 years' experience working in an instructional setting.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

1. Approach all duties and responsibilities in a professional manner, i.e. dress appropriately, be punctual and dependable, maintain a positive attitude, follow the established chain of command. 2. To encourage consumers in the task of normal living. 3. To teach consumers necessary daily living activities (such as time, counting, letters and numbers (per their individual service plan) 4. To provide written documentation monthly of' progress and attendance in accordance with the HCS billing guidelines. 5. To monitor consumers for problems with their day-to-day task. 6. To provide a positive reinforcement of solutions to consumer problems. 7. To provide a safe environment by training consumers in first aid, emergency procedures, including the identification of and response to dangerous or life-threatening situations 8. Complete data collection daily and other forms as required for Consumer Service Director. 9. Submit all required paperwork to CSD monthly. 10. Maintain confidentiality in all manners pertaining to the individual and families. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. 12. Abide by company "Rules of Conduct." 13. To adhere to assigned work schedule. 14. Make sure that all vehicles are maintained properly. Report maintenance issues (brakes, wipers, tires etc. ) immediately to the Maintenance/Transportation Supervisor. 15. ISS staff are to monitor individuals on vehicles to make sure that all trash is removed daily. Vehicles should be cleaned inside daily after each route and detailed monthly.
