APEX SPORTS ACADEMY

is seeking an experienced and motivated Volleyball Head Coach to lead one of our competitive girls club teams for the 2026-2027 season. This is an excellent opportunity for a coach who is passionate about athlete development, competitive volleyball, and building a strong team culture. Our roster is established, and the selected coach will step into a program with organizational support, resources, and a clear standard for athlete development. We are looking for a coach who can confidently lead practices, develop athletes technically and strategically, manage competition, and create an environment built around Relentlessness, Discipline, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. Responsibilities Plan and lead structured, high-quality volleyball practices Develop athletes in position-specific skills, volleyball IQ, and overall game performance Establish lineups, rotations, systems, and game-day strategies Coach the team during tournaments throughout the club season Provide constructive feedback and support individual athlete development Maintain professional communication with athletes, parents, and APEX leadership Promote teamwork, accountability, sportsmanship, and a competitive team culture Follow our organization, USAV/ODR, and applicable tournament policies and safety requirements Qualifications Volleyball coaching and/or competitive playing experience required Club, high school, collegiate, or advanced volleyball experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rotations, systems, and game strategy Ability to effectively teach, motivate, and develop female youth athletes Dependable, organized, professional, and able to communicate effectively Must be available for practices and scheduled weekend tournaments during the season Must be willing to complete required background screening and applicable coaching certifications Position Details Paid independent contractor position with stipend for tounments and practices Competitive coaching compensation Practices held twice per week in the Chesapeake, Virginia area Club season runs approximately December through May Tournament schedule includes local and regional competition Additional opportunities may be available for clinics, open gyms, private training, and future seasons Why Coach With Us?
