Ideally, these candidates will have experience in coaching soccer, with soccer playing experience as a bonus. This role involves coaching small groups of players, implementing learning activities designed by the Head Coach, and officiating intra-squad scrimmages. The soccer program is for players ages 4-6, so it is a beginners' program designed to teach fundamental skills and concepts of Soccer. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to support the operation of activities for the players. Practice sessions are 90 minutes in duration, with half for practicing skills and the other half for intra-squad scrimmages. Coaches should be comfortable coaching Soccer for players ages 4-6. Practices occur once per week on Sunday from 3p-4:30p at Marymoor Park in Redmond. This is a seasonal job to start with, and well-performing coaches will be asked back for future seasons. 13GEM Sporting provides year-round soccer programming for the community.
THIS JOB PROVIDES 2 PAID HOURS PER WEEK. PAID COACHING TIME IS FROM 2
30p-4:30p. Duties Support the Head Coach in operating learning activities and intra-squad scrimmages Independently implement assigned activities with small-groups (6-8 at a time) of players ages 4-6 Assist in the setup before practice and the clean-up after practice. Officiate intra-squad scrimmages Provide constructive feedback to players to enhance their performance and confidence. Foster teamwork and camaraderie among team members through group activities and exercises. Communicate effectively with parents regarding player progress and team activities. Maintain a positive attitude that encourages participation and enthusiasm for the sport. Ensure adherence to safety protocols during practices and games. Qualifications Previous experience in coaching soccer. Previous experience playing soccer is a bonus. Background in teaching or working with students in an educational or recreational setting. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. Ability to create an inclusive environment that accommodates diverse skill levels. USSF 4v4
