The season runs from September through February. Previous coaching experience is preferred. The chosen candidate is expected to begin planning development opportunities and camps for this summer. All candidates should possess a thorough understanding of aspects of coaching, the ability to motivate student-athletes, and possess strong communication and conflict resolution skills. Qualifications:
The applicant must have the ability to work cooperatively with administrators, teachers, parents, student-athletes, coaches, and the community. The candidate must have a strong desire to increase overall competitiveness, develop character in athletes, and motivate students to perform at or above their potential. Willingness to help continue to grow the youth program at the elementary school/middle school level is also required.
Current certification or willing to be certified in First Aid / AED / CPR
Knowledge of WIAA eligibility standards.
A member or willing to become a member of the WACPC and follow their rules and guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all high school levels of Pom Pon
Educate and supervise coaching staff
Set practice schedule
Assist AD in season scheduling
Supervise athletes at competitions and practices
Set attendance and discipline policies in accordance with district policies and the code of conduct.
Have high expectations and hold staff and student-athletes accountable to these expectations
Develop and lead off-season/summer training.
Attend pertinent athletic department, conference, and
WIAA/WCAPC
meetings.
Develops game plans through scouting opponents and applies them in practice.
