Job Description

Under the direction of the Camp and Family Director and in accordance with Association policies, the Dance Instructor is responsible for carrying out dance curriculum in a studio-style setting with preschool and school age children.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and carry out lesson plans. Create an environment that is welcoming, nurturing and genuine for all members and guests. Complete necessary handouts and student evaluations during the session. Participate in all required trainings and staff meetings. Maintain and follow all policies as outlined in the Associations Policy Manual. Cover teacher duties with a qualified substitute in the event of your absence or illness. Maintain positive public relations at all times with program participants and the community. Be responsible for the appearance of the classroom. Set up and put away equipment before and after class. Be responsible for strict adherence of all YMCA of Greater Waukesha County department policies and procedures related to safety and ensure compliance with local and state rules and regulations. The candidate must be at least 16 years of age and have a background in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop or Poms. Previous experience instructing in a classroom setting is preferred.
