Minimum Qualifications :
Terminal degree in Musical Theatre, Vocal Performance or Music or an equivalent degree withsignificant professional experience Evidence of continued creative work within the Theatre Industry as Music Director orequivalent Advanced piano and sight reading skills Ability to work effectively in a collaborativesetting Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, equity, diversity, and inclusion Job Duties ℜsponsibilities: Teach undergraduate Musical Theatre and Voice courses as assigned; including but not limited to MusicTheory, Aural Skills, Piano, Ensemble, Introduction to MT Repertoire, and Applied Voice. In some courses, you may serve as the accompanistand not the primary instructor. Ability to teach Theatre History I and II is a bonus. Courses to teach are directed by the Chair ofTheatre. Have advanced piano and sight reading skills for accompanying from sheet music. Collaboration with the ProgramDirector Musical Theatre Professor in needs of growth for the Musical Theatre Program Advisor for students in the BFA in MusicalTheatre program Serves on committees and/or conducts other university service responsibilities Maintain professional andacademic national standing Musical Director for 1 production per academic year or other leadership role as needed and assigned bythe GTA Artistic Director. Receives 3 credits of release time for the semester the show is produced or the leadership position is needed. Ifnot applied, pick up 3 credit hours of classes. Support fellow faculty members including those within the Gainesville TheatreAlliance structure (GTA). Attend and participate in faculty meetings with both Brenau and Gainesville Theatre Alliance(GTA). Recruit for the Theatre Department & Brenau. Help set Theatre Talent Scholarship amounts for BFA Musical Theatre students.

Collaborate with Admissions & Financial Aid offices to send letters of award. Piano skills utilized for auditions into ourprogram. Other duties as assigned by the Chair.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisoryresponsibilities required.
Work Hours:
Full-time. 37.5 hours per week. Generally, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.

Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department. Nights/weekends as needed.

9 months,continuous (dates)
Environmental and Working Conditions/ Physical Demands and Aptitudes:
Mostly Sedentary work. Work isperformed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment related to teaching. Prolonged periodssitting and standing. worker is required to have close visual acuity to grade papers, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Musthave the ability to travel short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. Exerting up to 15 pounds of force tolift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Some repetitive motion.

Minimal local travel and operation of a university vehicle and/or one's ownvehicle required. Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Georgia driver's license, and good driving record. Travel forrecruitment events may vary.

Special Requirements:
Brenau University conducts various screenings to ensure a safe and secure environment. These checksare a condition of employment and may be performed at different times throughout employment. (1)

All new hires mustundergo a criminal background check. To maintain employment, individuals must have and maintain a favorable criminal history. The universitymay also conduct random background checks. Additional checks may be performed for certain roles. (2)
Credit Checks:

Motor Vehicle and Driving Checks:
employees who operate auniversity vehicle or drive on university business must have a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) run as part of the new hire process or as therequirement to drive is added to job responsibilities. To be approved for university travel, employees must meet the following criteria: beat least 21 years old, have and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license, and have and maintain a good driving record. As a condition ofemployment, employees must report any arrest (within five days of its occurrence) to the Office of Human Resources, including trafficviolations for those listed on our auto insurance policy. Disclosure of subsequent legal action (conviction, dismissal of charges, etc.)must also be reported to the Office of Human Resources. It will be evaluated considering continued employment with the immediate supervisor.(4)
Drug Screening:
pre-employment/post-offer drug screens and random drug screens are performed for certain sensitive positions. Randomdrug screens are also performed on those who travel regularly, or those who operate a university vehicle. All employees are subject toreasonable suspicion drug screening.

Proof of any professional degree, license, or certification (collectively, "Credentials") required to competentlyperform the work for which the employee is hired must have been submitted at the time of application for the position. Discovery during thecourse of employee's employment that applicable Credentials have lapsed, been terminated, were misrepresented, or were falsified may resultin immediate termination of employee's employment. All positions will be filled pending budgetary review.
