Job Description

High Point University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Chemistry with a focus on analytical chemistry and expected start date of August 2027. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and student success. Candidates with experience in separations or environmental chemistry are especially encouraged to apply. This position is a 9-month, non-tenure track position eligible for multi-year contract extensions and promotion to Associate and Professor ranks. Primary responsibilities include teaching general and analytical chemistry and related laboratory courses. Additional responsibilities include developing an active research program that involves mentoring undergraduate research students and participating in departmental, school, and university service. High Point University is committed to a student-centered learning environment that emphasizes academic excellence, hands-on learning, and close faculty-student engagement. Faculty teach in modern facilities within the 128,000-square-foot Wanek School of Natural Sciences and have access to dedicated laboratory space, professional development support, startup funding, and advanced instrumentation including a
JEOL 400
MHz NMR and Shimadzu LCMS, GCMS, and HPLC systems. A Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field is required; postdoctoral experience is preferred.
