Job Description
Adjunct Instructor - Global Education Certificate in Teacher Continuing Education University of Haiti-Elms College Training Partnership Elms College is seeking an experienced and collaborative Adjunct Instructor to teach Curriculum Design , a 3-credit course within the Certificate in Teacher Continuing Education , offered through a collaborative teacher education partnership between Elms College and the University of Haiti . This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an international teacher education initiative designed to strengthen teachers' knowledge and skills in curriculum development, instructional planning, and effective educational practice. Position Overview The selected instructor will teach the same 12-week course to two cohorts of approximately 25 teachers each . The course will be delivered synchronously online via Zoom and co-taught with an instructor from the University of Haiti . The course is scheduled to begin in mid-December 2026 and continue through the first week of March 2027 .
The instructor will teach:
Cohort 1: Tuesdays, synchronous Zoom Cohort 2: Thursdays, synchronous Zoom Class length: Approximately 2½ hours per session Course length: 12 weeks

Curriculum Design (3 credits) The instructor will teach the same course content and learning outcomes to both cohorts , while adapting examples, activities, and discussions to the needs and experiences of participating teachers.
Responsibilities The Adjunct Instructor will:
Collaboratively plan and co-teach Curriculum Design with a University of Haiti faculty member. Facilitate engaging, interactive synchronous Zoom sessions focused on curriculum development and instructional planning. Introduce teachers to principles and practices of effective curriculum design. Connect curriculum theory and research to teachers' classroom experiences and educational contexts. Engage teachers in analyzing curriculum, developing learning objectives, selecting instructional strategies, and designing meaningful learning experiences. Incorporate culturally responsive and contextually relevant approaches to curriculum development. Design learning activities that encourage collaboration, reflection, problem-solving, and practical application. Provide clear expectations and timely feedback on student assignments and projects. Work collaboratively with the University of Haiti co-instructor to ensure consistency in course delivery, assessment, and student support. Communicate regularly with program leadership and the co-instructor regarding student progress and course needs. Support an inclusive online learning environment that recognizes the varied teaching experiences and educational backgrounds of participating teachers.
Qualifications Required:
Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Teacher Education, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field. Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, curriculum development, instructional planning, or a related area. Experience teaching educators, teachers, or adult learners. Experience teaching in an online or synchronous virtual environment. Fluency in English. Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.
Preferred:
Doctorate in Education or a related field. Proficiency in French and/or Haitian Creole . Experience working in international, multicultural, or cross-cultural education settings. Experience working with teachers or educational professionals in Haiti or other international contexts. Experience co-teaching or collaborating with faculty from another institution or educational system. Knowledge of culturally responsive curriculum development and adult learning. Experience designing professional development for practicing educators. Appointment and Compensation This is a part-time adjunct faculty appointment through Elms College . The selected instructor will be compensated according to Elms College's adjunct faculty compensation structure. Because the instructor will teach two cohorts of the same course, the position includes teaching responsibilities for two sections of the 3-credit course . $6,000 stipend.
