REPORTS TO
Superintendent of Schools / Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
JOB GOAL
To improve student learning through the coordination and support of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional growth in Math. Co-chair Math cycle review committee
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
In Math:
1. Apply principles of continuous improvement, systems dynamics, current learning theory, and curriculum integration to our instructional improvement processes. 2. With the appropriate involvement of staff, parents, students, and other coordinators and department chairs, coordinate district planning and implementation of a comprehensive curriculum that is aligned across schools and between grade levels. 3. Keep current on curriculum standards, materials and instruction and recommend appropriate changes to staff and schools. 4. Act as a resource person and consultant to teachers, administrators, and community on maintaining and improving curriculum and instruction. 5. Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in curriculum development meetings and actions that support these. 6. Advise the Superintendent and Professional Growth Committees on appropriate professional development programs. 7. Provide information about the instructional program to School Committee, staff, students, parents, and community. 8. Analyze assessment results and coordinate reporting to the School Committee, Superintendent, staff, and public.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a stipended position, in addition to regular teaching responsibilities. The position carries a 1-year stipend per the Unit A contract. Three days (19.5 hours) of additional service beyond the length of the Unit A contract is required, to be paid at the per diem rate, and to be scheduled at times mutually agreed upon. A substitute teacher will be provided during the school year, as mutually agreed upon, for related responsibilities.
