The Nursing Education Specialist works under the supervision of the DIRECTOR-Discover U Learning and Development Center. Collaborates with leadership and caregivers across the system to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate and revise educational programming for all nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested. The Nursing Education Specialist implements a comprehensive education program for his/her assigned areas (system, entity, department, clinic, etc.). Educational programs typically include, but are not limited to orientation, continuing education and in-services. Other services may include, but are not limited to process, performance and service-delivery consultation and contributions to the organization through ad-hoc or permanently established councils, committees and workgroups. > Additional Information Help for Additional Information.   • Ability to speak clearly, calibrate equipment, manipulation of small items and equipment, fine motor skills. Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to work well with others. Flexibility; expertise in nursing care with the ability to communicate that knowledge to others.
  • Has customer orientation. Essential Physical Requirements
  • Obtain and move equipment, mannequin demonstration, push carts, demonstrates all phases of patient care (walking, standing, reaching, lifting, moving mannequins, and equipment).
  • Requires driving to and from various locations for business purposes. Essential Mental Abilities
  • In-depth understanding of principles of adult education, use of statistical analysis, and current knowledge related to performance improvement and competency evaluation.
  • Ability to evaluate problems/situations, possess organizational skills and good comprehension skills including the ability to collect and interpret data.
