Job Description
Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. The Nursing Education Specialist works under the supervision of the DIRECTOR-Discover U Learning and Development Center. Collaborates with leadership and caregivers across the system to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate and revise educational programming for all nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested. The Nursing Education Specialist implements a comprehensive education program for his/her assigned areas (system, entity, department, clinic, etc.). Educational programs typically include, but are not limited to orientation, continuing education and in-services. Other services may include, but are not limited to process, performance and service-delivery consultation and contributions to the organization through ad-hoc or permanently established councils, committees and workgroups. > Additional Information

Ability to speak clearly, calibrate equipment, manipulation of small items and equipment, fine motor skills. Interpersonal Skills
Ability to work well with others. Flexibility; expertise in nursing care with the ability to communicate that knowledge to others.
Has customer orientation. Essential Physical Requirements
Obtain and move equipment, mannequin demonstration, push carts, demonstrates all phases of patient care (walking, standing, reaching, lifting, moving mannequins, and equipment).
Requires driving to and from various locations for business purposes. Essential Mental Abilities
In-depth understanding of principles of adult education, use of statistical analysis, and current knowledge related to performance improvement and competency evaluation.
Ability to evaluate problems/situations, possess organizational skills and good comprehension skills including the ability to collect and interpret data.
