Job description The ideal candidate shall serve as the primary coordinator of the Religious Education program which is under the responsibility of the assigned Priest and/or designated Chaplain. The coordinator is expected to provide a comprehensive Catholic RE program that is consistent with the Second Vatican Council and subsequent statements of the American Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Hours:
This is a part-time position. Approximately 20 hours per month. Responsibilities Coordinate with the Catholic Chaplain/Priest to develop and implement Religious Education (RE) programs, goals, policies and procedures for children and adults.
These programs include:
Catechist training, Sacramental program (First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation) Oversee Parent and teacher trainings and Seasonal programs (Christmas Pageant, Stations of the Cross) Order curriculum and supplies for succeeding quarters The Coordinator shall attend 100% of Weekly meetings inclusive of the Parish Council meeting, and any other meeting schedule by the Garrison Chaplain. Provide a calendar update to designated Chaplain, by the 1st business day of the month to include Religious Education (RE) events (such as bible studies, retreats, promotional events, other community events, etc). Prepare facility reservation request forms. Develop flyers for RE programs and services. Track RE program attendance weekly to coordinate support of the RE program. Prepare program materials for RE programs weekly. Preparation shall include making copies, distributing supplies/materials to learning spaces, and reset at conclusion of the program. These items will correspond with the Religious Education program calendar. Prepare program materials for seasonal RE programs (i.e. Christmas, Easter, summer programs). Collect all supporting documentation for Sacramental record keeping purposes. Must complete all training courses within a timely manner. Supervise the registration of RE students, teachers, and new families. Develop and manage a continuity file for the RE program. Maintain healthy interpersonal relationships with chapel staff, fellow contractors, and parishioners. Qualifications
Must be an active practicing Catholic.
Must provide two 2 references validating education and experience requirement Must be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the Catholic Faith.
Demonstrate a familiarity with and a commitment to support the religious support programs.
Excellent organization and planning skills. Possess sufficient administrative skills necessary to produce bulletins and flyers, create and modify RE program/ministry documents, update and manage calendars, correspond via email and/or social media, and must have at least one year's experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
Possess basic word-processing skills.
Experience providing instruction in a religious learning environment.
Maintain professional standards of conduct and decorum, to include dress, appearance, grooming, and use of appropriate, professional language. Be able to constructively work with chapel staff and the public in a pluralistic environment. Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills. Ability to multitask. Must be willing and able to undergo and pass a background check. Must have reliable transportation with adequate, up to date vehicle insurance.
Hourly rate of pay:
$15.00-$17.00

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 per week
