Category Schools - Reading Specialist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in students' academic journeys as a Reading Specialist supporting literacy development in an engaging school environment near Clymer, PA. This contract opportunity is ideal for skilled educators who are passionate about fostering literacy at foundational levels and want to collaborate closely with fellow professionals to create measurable reading success. As the Reading Interventionist, you'll primarily facilitate small group instruction in 30-minute rotating sessions (typically with groups of around six students), with opportunities to deliver push-in interventions as well. Your expertise will synergize with classroom teachers, instructional staff, and other specialists to shape effective, evidence-based literacy practices and drive continuous student growth. Leveraging assessment data, you will identify individual strengths and areas for support, design targeted reading interventions, and enhance classroom literacy strategies as part of a coordinated, data-driven literacy framework.
Qualifications:
Valid Pennsylvania State Educator License with Reading Specialist certification At least 2 years of recent teaching experience preferred Strong collaborative skills with educators and support staff Deep understanding of literacy best practices and effective intervention techniques Confidence in using assessment data to inform instructional decisions In this role, you will: Work within a teacher-contracted schedule Provide targeted reading support to small groups of students Conduct push-in sessions as needed Collaborate with teachers to align interventions and classroom practices Monitor and document student progress for ongoing instructional refinement Benefits include a comprehensive health package (medical, dental, and vision), and a 401(k) plan through Principal Financial.
