08/26/2026 Position Announcement The Community Education Specialist assists with all aspects of Community Education programs, conferences, registration, class scheduling, and day-to-day operations. This position is limited to 29 hours per week. Responsibilities Serves as afternoon/evening point of contact for instructors and students needing assistance Visits evening classes to provide support, take pictures, and administer evaluations Staffs the reception desk and provides customer service, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and processing registrations Processes daily sales receipts and customer payments while following university cash-handling and PCI compliance procedures Assists with billing, payroll, deposits, and financial recordkeeping Maintains class rosters, records, logs, files, and other departmental documentation Updates Community Education website and class listings Communicates with instructors to collect and maintain class information Assists with classroom and facility scheduling Helps facilitate conferences and workshops, including scheduling, logistics, meals, housing, and all other arrangements Manages social media pages, email newsletter, and other digital marketing Assists with print brochure timeline and tasks Schedules and serves as proctor for ACT Prep Workshops Qualifications High School diploma required, and two years' work experience and/or college education. Associate degree preferred. 2-3 years of office or professional experience . Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude Willing to learn and take direction Excellent knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and professional correspondence Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Strong work ethic and a demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace Ability to concentrate on detailed projects during numerous interruptions by telephone or from walk-ins Ability to exercise tact, patience, and sound judgment when assisting customers with questions or concerns Ability to lift 30 pounds Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions Must be reliable and punctual Driver's License required Supplemental Information
POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Part-time hourly staff (overtime-eligible) position, working up to 29 hours/week.
