Primary Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Professional Learning, the Professional Learning Coordinator will design, implement, and evaluate professional learning programs, events, and systems for campus and non-campus staff, collaborating with the Professional Learning team, campus and district administrators, and a variety of stakeholders for the purpose of serving as a liaison and resource, identifying training needs, and coordinating professional learning services within the District.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related area Valid Texas Teaching Certificate Principal Certification (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Expertise in designing and delivering training for campus and district level staff Ability to learn and use a wide variety of technological tools for communication, design, data management, file maintenance, word processing, and content creation Working knowledge of training and/or supervision of personnel Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, develop, and manage multiple projects Understanding of adult learning principles and best practices for professional learning design and delivery Ability work effectively on a team and with a variety of stakeholders
Experience:
At least five years successful teaching experience (preferred) At least two years experience in an instructional leadership role (preferred)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Ensure exceptional staff development opportunities through effective needs assessments, learning design, implementation, and evaluation Work individually and in collaboration with other departments in developing engaging professional learning opportunities that encompass the district's core beliefs, integrate effective use of adult learning strategies, and align with T-TESS and T-PESS, as appropriate Collaborate with campus leadership in the design, coordination, and delivery of campus-specific professional learning Support district leadership in developing and implementing leadership pipeline programs and activities Support district departments in designing and delivering student management coaching and support Prepare a wide variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information Research, support, and manage a variety of resources, including in-person and online courses, materials, and training consultants, to support the development of programs aligned to our district goals, initiatives, and plans Plan logistics for professional learning events Develop enterprise knowledge of the professional learning catalog and transcript system (PowerSchool or similar) in order to lead system training and support for all district staff Create and manage highly organized and user-friendly library of Professional Development resources to include on-line learning opportunities Support the district appraisal process to include training, goal setting, and the completion and submission of performance documents to HR Serve as consultant (to departments and campus staff) to facilitate team building, vision/mission setting, and employee growth opportunities Schedule activities effectively and secure resources needed to accomplish goals related to professional learning
