Instruct group classes. Provides excellent service to members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, national certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction, Tivity Health, OR YMCA Group Exercise Instructor certification (within 90 days of hire).
Certification and/or experience in areas of expertise.
You must stay current with the above certifications.
The YMCA will reimburse you half of the cost for your pre-requisite and initial online training courses for the YMCA Group Exercise Instructor certification. After that, you are reimbursed up to $50 every year for continuing education after the continuing education is approved by the director. Unused training funds do not carry over.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Specific Functions
Leads group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
Conducts energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes.
Keep accurate class attendance records.
Attends periodic group exercise staff meetings. General Functions
Assists with functions and events as needed
Attends required meetings, conferences or training as deemed necessary
Performs other duties as assigned.

Builds effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Required for essential duties; reasonable accommodations will be considered under the Americans with Disabilities Act; this list is not all-inclusive and may be supplemented as necessary.
Ability to perform physical work including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
Flexibility to respond to facility emergencies during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Travel required between YMCA facilities.

Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
