WellnessPOSITION SUMMARY
Instruct group classes. Provides excellent service to members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.QUALIFICATIONS
- Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, national certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction, Tivity Health, OR YMCA Group Exercise Instructor certification (within 90 days of hire).
- Certification and/or experience in areas of expertise.
- You must stay current with the above certifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Specific Functions- Leads group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
- Conducts energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes.
- Keep accurate class attendance records.
- Attends periodic group exercise staff meetings. General Functions
- Assists with functions and events as needed
- Attends required meetings, conferences or training as deemed necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Builds effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Required for essential duties; reasonable accommodations will be considered under the Americans with Disabilities Act; this list is not all-inclusive and may be supplemented as necessary.- Ability to perform physical work including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Flexibility to respond to facility emergencies during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel required between YMCA facilities.
