Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic ASP Teacher/Bus Driver to join our vibrant team. Duties Safely operate school van and transportation vehicles in accordance with traffic laws, vehicle codes, and school policies Provide engaging instructional support as an ASP (After School Program) Teacher, fostering a positive learning environment for children Conduct pre-trip inspections and routine vehicle maintenance checks to ensure safety and mechanical reliability Respond promptly to traffic changes, emergency situations, and traffic laws violations using defensive driving techniques Manage behavior effectively during transportation and classroom activities, promoting respectful conduct and safety compliance Assist with loading and unloading students, including those requiring special accommodations such as paratransit services or senior care assistance Communicate clearly with students, parents, school staff, and emergency responders to ensure smooth daily operations and address any concerns or incidents Qualifications Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus operation with a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, emergency response procedures for transportation, and emergency stop procedures First aid certification (CPR preferred), with the ability to respond quickly to emergencies involving children or passengers Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for working with diverse communities Demonstrated understanding of child behavior management techniques and working effectively with children of various ages Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for loading/unloading equipment or assisting passengers Familiarity with school policies, safety regulations, and customer service principles in educational settings Multilingual skills are advantageous for engaging with a diverse student body and community members Join us in delivering safe transportation while supporting educational growth!
