Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead School Age Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and possess strong skills in curriculum development, classroom management, and behavior management. This role offers an opportunity to influence the development of school-aged children through engaging lesson plans, individualized support, and fostering a positive learning environment. Candidates should have a background in childhood development, experience working with children, and familiarity with various educational methodologies including Montessori and preschool techniques. Must be able to work a split schedule of 6:30am-9:00am and then come back from 1:00pm to 6:30pm. Must be able to drive a 14 seater school bus. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula tailored to school-age children, incorporating literacy education, math, physical education, and other core subjects. Design engaging lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development. Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all students. Utilize behavior management strategies to support positive behavior and address challenges effectively. Conduct assessments aligned with standardized testing requirements to monitor student progress and inform instruction. Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address individual needs related to special education or early intervention. Supervise classroom assistants and volunteers, providing guidance on classroom management and instructional strategies. Incorporate diverse teaching methods such as tutoring, literacy programs, Montessori techniques, and physical education to enhance learning outcomes. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and lesson plans in compliance with childcare regulations. Stay current with early childhood education best practices, including childhood development theories and child welfare standards. Qualifications Proven experience working with school-aged children in educational or childcare settings. Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management strategies. Knowledge of early childhood education principles, including Montessori methods, preschool experience, toddler care, special education, early intervention, and literacy education. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools used in private schools or daycare environments. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, staff, and community partners. Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse student needs including those requiring special education or additional support services. Childcare certification or relevant early childhood education credentials preferred. Pay:
$14.00 - $18.00 per hour Application Question(s): Can you work a split schedule of 6:30am-9am and then 1:00pm to 6:30pm Monday to Friday Have you driven a 14 seater school bus before?
