Is familiar with and performs the Head Start Standards.
Completes a variety of clerical duties in support of program activities, such as preparing, typing, copying, and filing.
Provides and maintains a safe and healthy Head Start environment.
Maintains office security by following safety policies & procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.
Completes material Requisitions as instructed by the Director
Collaborates with all Head Start Staff and assists them as needed.
Facilitates activities for the Teacher, arranges equipment and materials in the classroom.
Cooperates with other staff and classroom groups to maintain the smooth functioning of the center, which at times may require changes to meet the needs of the children.
Answers, screens, and forwards incoming phone calls.
Assists with breakfast, lunch, snacks, and any other meals as necessary by eating with and assisting children in the development of social and self-help skills and sound nutritional practices using family-style dining;
Maintains established standards of sanitation, safety, and food preparation and storage as set by the local and state health departments;
Maintains cost control, budget, and inventory systems based on CAFCP procedures, including records of food service and attendance.
Performs a variety of educational techniques.
Demonstrate the ability to react well under pressure, handle and balance multiple demands at one time, work with frequent interruptions, and perform duties and tasks at expected levels of professionalism.
Acts as a bus monitor for children's pick-up and/or drop-off, if needed.
Other duties may be required.
Is required by the State of Arizona, the Office of Head Start, and the Cocopah Tribal Social Services to be a mandated reporter of child abuse and neglect.
