Lead Direct Support Professional
LOCATION
Highland Park, IL
REPORTING TO
House Manager Position Summary:
Keshet is looking for a Lead Direct Support Professional (Lead DSP) to join our residential team! This is a great opportunity for an experienced DSP or human services professional who is ready to take on a leadership role while continuing to make a direct impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
What You'll Do:
Lead, mentor, and support a team of Direct Support Professionals Help train new staff and promote a positive, supportive team environment Provide hands-on support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their home and community Support daily living activities including personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and community outings Encourage independence, choice, and community involvement Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation Assist with transportation and safely drive program participants Communicate with managers, families, and other members of the support team Help ensure individuals' rights, safety, and well-being are always prioritized Provide on-call support at least two weekends per month What We're Looking For High school diploma/GED required; college degree a plus Previous experience in human services, healthcare, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record At least 21 years old Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Reliable, compassionate, patient, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team Comfortable assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and transfers CPR/First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain) Ability to complete required DSP and medication administration training Why Work at Keshet? From $85,000.00 per year
