Assistant Director:
Early Childhood Education Opportunity A well-established, accredited early childhood school in Sudbury area is seeking a collaborative and experienced educational administrator to join its administrative team. This Assistant Director role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about curriculum, teacher development, and building strong relationships within a thriving school community. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing administrative team at a year-round preschool program serving Infants through Pre-K, with a strong reputation for educational excellence and family engagement. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 annually (climbs from there based on experience, credentials, etc.) Health/ Dental insurance 401(k) with company match after one year PTO, Paid Holidays, and Paid winter break Child care tuition discount available Professional development opportunities and ongoing support Position Overview The Assistant Director will provide guidance and support across all classrooms, with a primary focus on: Curriculum implementation and educational quality Teacher coaching, mentoring, and professional development Classroom support and instructional oversight Building strong relationships with teachers and families Supporting school-wide programming and operations as needed This role is highly collaborative and best suited for someone who enjoys being actively engaged with staff and students throughout the school day—not someone seeking a primarily desk-based administrative position. The ideal candidate values educators, leads with mutual respect, and demonstrates initiative, strong organization, and a team-first mindset.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree within education or related field. Leadership experience in a large early childhood or child care program strongly preferred Experience supporting multiple age groups from infants through school age Previous classroom teaching experience highly valued Experience supervising and supporting teams of 20+ employees preferred for director-level candidates Experience with curriculum oversight, teacher coaching, and staff development Exposure to broad school operations (scheduling, programming, food service, compliance, etc.) is a plus Schedule ability to either open the school at 6:30 or remain through closing until 6:15. Skills & Attributes Strong written communication skills Organizational and time management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel Collaborative work style High initiative and strong work ethic Ability to synthesize information and solve problems effectively Passion for supporting educators and fostering a positive school culture Additional Information Preference will be given to candidates local to the MetroWest/Boston area Candidates should ideally reside within a reasonable commuting distance
