Job Description

20% Bonus + Company Truck Unique Interior Projects About Our Client This established commercial general contractor is a respected builder with approximately 35 employees and a strong reputation for delivering complex projects across hospitality, retail, restaurant, healthcare, fitness, banking, and high-end interior renovation markets. With a collaborative culture and a portfolio of unique and challenging work, the company empowers its teams to take ownership and make meaningful contributions. The General Superintendent will play a critical leadership role within the organization, helping drive field excellence across multiple projects. This General Superintendent position offers visibility across the entire project portfolio and the opportunity to mentor field staff while supporting continued company growth. The General Superintendent will serve as a key operational leader, ensuring projects are positioned for success from planning through completion. Job Description Provide oversight and strategic support across multiple active construction projects simultaneously Mentor, coach, and develop superintendents and field teams Evaluate project performance and identify opportunities to improve execution, planning, and field operations Support superintendents with means and methods, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and problem-solving Assist in resolving field challenges while maintaining positive relationships with project teams Serve as a resource for operational planning, logistics, and project delivery strategies Build and maintain strong subcontractor and trade partner relationships Travel between project sites throughout Washington, DC and the surrounding 495 Beltway region Help maintain quality, safety, schedule, and operational standards across the portfolio Collaborate closely with company leadership and field operations teams to support business objectives The General Superintendent will oversee a portfolio consisting primarily of food & beverage, hospitality, restaurant, commercial interiors, rehabilitation, restoration, and historic preservation projects. The General Superintendent will act as a trusted advisor to field teams while ensuring each project receives the support needed to achieve successful outcomes. The Successful Applicant Senior Superintendent or General Superintendent experience within commercial construction Proven ability to oversee and support multiple projects simultaneously, ideally 4-5 projects at one time Experience with hospitality, restaurant, food & beverage, commercial interiors, restoration, rehabilitation, or historic preservation projects Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching abilities High emotional intelligence with a collaborative leadership approach Ability to influence teams while respecting field autonomy and existing leadership structures Strong subcontractor relationships and industry network Expertise in project planning, field operations, scheduling, and construction execution Comfortable working across multiple project sites throughout the DC metro area What's on Offer Base salary: $150,000 - $165,000 Annual performance bonus opportunity of approximately 20% Company truck and gas card 401(k) retirement plan with company match of 50% of employee contributions up to 6% (maximum employer contribution of 3%) Blue Cross Blue Shield medical insurance options United Healthcare dental and vision coverage Affordable healthcare plans with near full employee coverage on select options 56 hours of Sick & Safe Leave Professional training and career development opportunities In-house wellness center Catered lunch every other week Dog-friendly office environment Opportunity to oversee a diverse portfolio of highly visible commercial construction projects throughout the DC metro market Please apply to be considered for this position!
