Job Description Primary Purpose:
Coach and develop campus administrators to strengthen instructional leadership, maintain high professional standards, and lead effective campus systems. Serve as the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) specialist and lead development and refinement of the district's MTSS and Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) models. Build administrators' capacity to lead and sustain campus implementation. This position works with administrators and district staff.
Qualifications:
Education /
Certification:
Master's degree in educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, or a related field. Valid Texas principal certification required. Valid Texas teacher certification required.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), research-based instruction, assessment, and school improvement; expertise in adult learning, administrator coaching, and leadership development; ability to design districtwide MTSS systems and build campus leaders' capacity to implement them; knowledge of TIA model development; ability to analyze student growth, observation, and implementation data; strong communication, facilitation, organization, and problem-solving skills; ability to provide direct feedback and maintain high expectations with consistent support and accountability. Bilingual preferred, with proficiency in English and Spanish.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of combined experience as a campus principal and/or district-level administrator. Demonstrated success developing campus leaders, improving instruction, and using data to improve student outcomes. Experience leading professional learning, building intervention systems, and implementing campus or district improvement initiatives.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Administrator Coaching and Leadership Development Collaborate with district leaders to identify administrator development needs and establish coaching priorities aligned with campus needs and district goals. Develop individualized administrator coaching plans (where needed) with measurable goals, action steps, timelines, and evidence of progress. Monitor follow-through and communicate progress to the designated supervisor. Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching for administrators; model leadership practices, observe implementation, and provide timely, specific feedback. Build administrators' capacity to lead instruction, develop teachers, facilitate professional learning communities, analyze data, and monitor campus improvement. Coach administrators in supporting effective instruction for emergent bilingual (EB) students, including language development, sheltered instruction, and monitoring instructional practices to improve language proficiency and academic achievement. Major Responsibilities and Duties Administrator Coaching and Leadership Development Maintain high expectations for leadership, professional conduct, instructional quality, and completion of agreed-upon actions. Address performance gaps directly and support sustained administrator growth. Plan and deliver administrator professional learning aligned with district practices. Evaluate its effect on leadership practice and campus implementation. Support assigned administrator growth plans and document coaching, feedback, and progress. Build leaders' capacity to carry out campus responsibilities independently. MTSS Specialist and Model Development Serve as the district's MTSS specialist. Develop and refine a consistent districtwide model for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports, including procedures, tools, documentation, and implementation expectations. Train and coach campus administrators to lead campus MTSS teams and oversee screening, intervention planning, progress monitoring, and data-based decisions. Campus administrators are responsible for campus implementation and staff follow-through. Monitor campus MTSS implementation with administrators, review data and documentation, and address gaps in consistency and effectiveness. Build sustainable campus processes through administrator coaching rather than direct student services. TIA Model Development and Administrator Support Support development and refinement of the district's TIA model in collaboration with district leaders and designated TIA staff; establish clear processes, responsibilities, documentation, and timelines for district review and approval. Coach administrators in consistent implementation of the approved TIA model, including observation calibration, student growth measures, data quality, and documentation. Review TIA implementation data with district and campus leaders, identify needed improvements, and support reporting and communication. Build administrators' capacity to implement the model accurately and consistently. Other Comply with district policies and applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Maintain confidentiality, accurate records, and professional and ethical standards. Maintain current knowledge of effective instruction, leadership, MTSS, and TIA practices. Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress; manage competing priorities and difficult conversations. Frequent districtwide travel and occasional state travel; prolonged sitting, standing, and computer use; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
