Total hours required per week 40 Work Schedule 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday with an hour lunch break. 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday.
Summer Schedule:
7:30 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday with a half hour lunch break. Some evening and weekend hours may be required throughout the year. This is an on-site position. Essential duties of the role must be performed in-person, during prescribed work hours. Position Summary & Essential Duties
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Associate Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management the incumbent is responsible for creating and supporting a high-quality student life experience for all students at Temple College. The Director of Student Life and Programs creates, implements, and facilitates opportunities for co-curricular learning and student leadership development. The Director of Student Life will also promote proactive retention activities and student engagement. The Director of Student Life functions as a student advocate by responding directly to student needs and issues affecting student well-being. Qualifications (Required and Preferred)

Knowledge of Colleague software and student planning.

None Job Duties and Responsibilities The incumbent will: Develop and market student initiatives and programming that will promote high-quality student life experiences and holistic well-being Serve multiple campuses (Temple, Hutto and Taylor) to create student engagement opportunities. Provide oversight to campus-wide signature student events and programs such as New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, Spring Fling, Fall Festival, Blue Coats, and others as requested by the Associate Vice President for Student Services and Enrollment Management Primary point of contact and support for student clubs and organizations. Coordinate required federal risk-management training for organization sponsors, maintain the Sponsor handbook. Assist organizations and sponsors with navigating club budgets and college organization financial allocations. Develop and implement effective handling of student organization processes for student activities and travel. Coordinate submission and approval of activity forms and organization travel paperwork. Enforce timely submission of documentation to allow adequate time for approval and campus preparation for events. Coordinate on-campus tabling from partner institutions. Stay abreast of campus services, programs, resources, and other opportunities to aid in the retention of all students Direct students to resources, policies, and procedures to address personal or academic concerns Assist with addressing and responding to student complaints Serve as back-up student conduct officer for Associate Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management Work with faculty, staff, and administration to address and respond to student concerns and needs Build relationships and partnerships with student service and support offices across campus Serve as lead for orientation programming Assist the AVP of Student Services and Enrollment Management with special projects Assist and support programming hosted by departments within Student Affairs Work alongside staff from multiple locations and departments to develop programming, to include the Associate Vice President and COO of the East Williamson County Centers. Perform all other duties assigned. KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of budgeting. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures such as managing files and documents, word processing, and other office procedures and terms. Knowledge of trends, issues and accepted practices relevant to higher education, student affairs, student leadership development, and student well-being. Knowledge of management principles and practices. SKILLS Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with community, school and College personnel and officials. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to actively listen and understand what clients are communicating.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Light physical activity is required with occasional lifting of objects up to 15 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is normally performed in a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor setting with adequate ventilation. This position will primary work from the Temple College Temple campus, with regular travel to Hutto and Taylor.
