Supply Chain Superintendent Posted on May 6, 2025 May 6, 2025 by JMJ Phillip We are seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Superintendent to lead and optimize all aspects of supply chain operations. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in procurement, inventory management, logistics, and production planning. The successful candidate will oversee end-to-end supply chain functions to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely flow of materials and products throughout the organization. Position Responsibilities Procurement & Vendor Management Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectations are met Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, monitoring performance and compliance Identify opportunities for cost savings and supplier consolidation Inventory Control & Materials Management Oversee inventory levels and implement best practices to optimize stock while minimizing excess Coordinate with production and warehousing teams to maintain accurate inventory records Develop and enforce policies for material handling and storage Logistics & Distribution Oversight Manage inbound and outbound logistics to support production and customer demand Collaborate with shipping partners to ensure timely and cost-efficient transportation Resolve issues related to delays, damages, or shipping discrepancies Production Planning & Coordination Align supply chain activities with production schedules and customer orders Monitor material availability and proactively address supply disruptions Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and finance teams to forecast demand and manage lead times Prerequisites 5-7 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or materials management 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing or distribution environment Strong knowledge of ERP systems and supply chain software Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively at all levels Certifications (Preferred, but not Required) APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Six Sigma Certification Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)

Education:
