Assistant Power & Recovery Superintendent Reports to: Power & Recovery Manager The Position Assists with Managing the needs of the Power and Recovery Department under the direction of the Power & Recovery Manager, including the quality of operation, safety, environmental compliance & maintenance of equipment in the Power and Recovery area. We use a blend of virgin and recycled fibers (Kraft and OCC pulp) to produce Kraft pulp, paper, containerboard, medium and market pulp. Maintenance coordination.
Process and equipment optimization.
Scheduling.
Training and discipline of employees.
Responsible for work and vacation schedules. Accountability and Authority
Equipment o Recovery boiler.
o Power boiler (hog fuel). o Package boiler. o Steam turbine generators. o Evaporators and concentrators. o Feedwater system. o Steam and condensate systems. o Compressed air system. o Primary and secondary effluent treatment. o Electrical distribution. o Mill water system. o Fuel oil system.
Assists with:
Budget Development & Administration.
Action Plans for Goal achievement.
Coordinating P&R Operations to meet mill demands.
Environmental compliance.
Power contract negotiations.
Trouble shooting production problems.
Power and Recovery contracts.
Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft office and 4 site is desired.
Working knowledge of steam and electrical generation, chemical recovery, and wastewater treatment processes desired. Required Education
Degree in pulp and paper science or chemical engineering preferred, operating experience considered. Physical Requirements
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and the ability to lift up to 40lbs. Vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision. Work Schedule, and Environment
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with overtime as needed.
This job operates in a production office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, etc. Employment Terms
Full time, Exempt position
Salary range: $125,000 - $193,750 DOE.

3 weeks paid vacation or more depending on position.
9 paid holidays and one paid personal holiday per calendar year.
