JOB DESCRIPTION
To create a flexible elementary and middle school grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in accordance with each pupil's ability; establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor Degree Arizona Elementary Teacher certification. (Early Childhood endorsement OR Early Childhood certification needed for Kindergarten positions) Provisional SEI or full Bilingual or ESL endorsement

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Demonstrate teaching skills and knowledge in assigned academic area, utilizing course of study adopted by the Governing Board and other appropriate learning activities. Instruct pupils in subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil. Evaluate pupil's academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports. Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil's progress and interpret the school program. Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems. Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards and interest centers. Maintain professional competence through in-service professional development activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities. Select and requisition instructional aids and materials; maintain required inventory records. Perform other duties as assigned.
