Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Upper Elementary Teacher to inspire and educate students in grades four through six. This dynamic role involves fostering a positive learning environment, implementing engaging curricula, and supporting the holistic development of young learners. This position will begin with interim pay at a daily rate for the first 30 days. Upon successful completion of the 30-day probationary period, the position will transition to a salaried position. Duties Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, science, social studies, and physical education. Incorporate educational technology and learning tools to enhance student engagement and understanding. Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and special needs, including students with autism or those requiring early intervention strategies. Monitor and assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, adjusting instruction accordingly. Foster a classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management, respect, and collaboration among students. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavioral concerns, and developmental milestones. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school initiatives, and professional growth opportunities such as mentoring or teacher collaboration sessions. Requirements Proven experience teaching elementary school students in a classroom setting with a focus on upper elementary grades. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, educational technology integration, and curriculum implementation strategies. Excellent communication skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues effectively. Ability to adapt lessons for different learning styles and provide differentiated instruction. Experience working with children with diverse needs, including special education requirements or early childhood education backgrounds. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures, student performance data analysis, and educational compliance regulations. Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with behavior management techniques to create a safe and productive learning environment. Passion for mentoring young learners and supporting their social-emotional growth through engaging activities like tutoring or library services.
