Long Term Substitute Teacher (Maternity Leave) - 1st Grade

Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Long Term Substitute Teacher to join our vibrant educational community on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. In this role, you will step into an active classroom environment, delivering engaging lessons and fostering a nurturing atmosphere that promotes growth, curiosity, and confidence among students. Your enthusiasm and expertise will ensure continuity of instruction and support the developmental needs of young learners across various age groups. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable classroom experience in a dynamic setting. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative teaching strategies to engage students. Deliver lessons across core subjects such as literacy education, math, early childhood development, and Montessori methods, adapting content to meet individual student needs. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and proactive behavior management techniques to create a safe and respectful learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to coordinate instructional activities, assessments, and student progress monitoring. Support students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring special education accommodations or working with individuals with autism. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, and academic progress in compliance with school policies. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student development, achievements, and areas for improvement. Qualifications Proven classroom experience in early childhood education Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques. Experience working with children across different developmental stages, including childhood development principles. Familiarity with teaching methods such as Montessori or literacy education strategies. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and team members. Ability to adapt instruction for students with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or tutoring support. Demonstrated professionalism, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working in a collaborative educational environment. Join us in inspiring young minds!
