Additional Skills Required:
Knowledge of Special Education programming, laws, and procedures to ensure compliance with IDEA and district policies related to special education services; Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral data; Case management of assigned students, which includes the development of standards-aligned IEPs, reporting on progress, and facilitating IEP meetings; Committed to continuous improvement and data-based decision-making; Effective written, verbal, and technology-based communication skills; Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, diagnostic tools, and research related to students with disabilities. Thorough understanding of specially designed instruction in literacy and math to support diverse learners; Strong knowledge of teaching strategies, including visual supports, communication, social skills, and sensory regulation techniques; Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to implement individualized behavior plans; Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders; Ability to work with linguistically and culturally diverse students.
