Job Description

Our newly established Orthodox Christian classical school is seeking joyful, dedicated, and mission-aligned teachers to help build the foundation of our early elementary program. We are seeking experienced teachers who share our commitment to shaping students intellectually, spiritually, and morally through a classical Christian education. The ideal candidates will cultivate wonder, virtue, and a love of learning in our youngest students while integrating the living tradition of the Orthodox Church into daily classroom life. Applicants need not be Orthodox, provided they are practicing Christians who respect the Orthodox Christian faith and tradition.

This is a unique opportunity to join a founding team and shape a program rooted in faith, classical pedagogy, and developmentally appropriate early childhood practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate daily lesson plans.
  • Modify and differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic needs.
  • Create a warm, orderly, and nurturing classroom environment that reflects Christian values and classical educational principles.
  • Establish and maintain a structured environment with clear expectations.
  • Teach literacy, numeracy, nature study, storytelling, music, and other foundational subjects using appropriate classical methods.
  • Establish clear routines and gentle structure that support young children's emotional, social, and academic growth.
  • Integrate prayer, Scripture, the liturgical calendar, and Orthodox Christian practices into daily classroom rhythms.
  • Foster habits of attention, curiosity, gratitude, and kindness in students.
  • Communicate regularly and collaboratively with parents, clergy, and school leadership.
  • Participate in professional development, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives as part of the founding faculty.
  • Support the mission and vision of the school through personal conduct, classroom culture, and professional engagement.
  • Identify needed classroom materials, manipulatives, activities, stories, and related resources, in collaboration with the Head of School, who will review curriculum and storybook selections.
