School Overview Creation Acres is a small Christian Montessori school in downtown Mint Hill serving students ages 3-15. We offer an authentic Montessori experience that integrates all subjects while nurturing faith, independence, curiosity, and leadership. Our prepared environments support children in taking an active role in their learning. Position Overview We're looking for a teacher who loves Jesus, loves working with children, and is eager to learn and embrace the Montessori approach. No Montessori experience or certification is required to apply. We welcome Montessori educators as well as elementary teachers ready to immerse themselves in a new way of doing school. As an Elementary Guide, you will support students in grades 1-3, grades 4-6, or a combined elementary environment. Working alongside another guide, you will nurture students' academic, spiritual, and personal growth. Teachers who do not already hold an AMI credential must enroll in an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) training program upon hire. The school can cover the cost of this training. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a teachable spirit and a commitment to learning and practicing the Montessori way. Responsibilities Maintain a prepared environment that reflects Montessori principles and Christian values. Present Montessori lessons and guide students' work according to their individual needs, interests, and readiness. Observe students and document their progress to guide lesson planning and provide appropriate support. Foster independence, concentration, responsibility, and respect within the classroom community. Mentor students in their academic, spiritual, and personal development, encouraging leadership and collaboration. Work closely with fellow educators to support students and maintain a purposeful learning environment. Communicate effectively with families about student growth and classroom life. Participate fully in AMI training, as applicable, and ongoing professional development. Apply what you learn through training, reflection, and collaboration to strengthen your Montessori practice. Qualifications Bachelor's degree A committed Christian faith and a desire to support Creation Acres' Christ-centered mission Experience in elementary teaching Knowledge of literacy instruction An open, teachable mindset and enthusiasm for learning the Montessori approach Enrollment in an AMI training program upon hire if not already AMI certified Commitment to completing training and applying Montessori principles in daily practice Strong mentoring skills and respect for each child's individual development Excellent communication skills to build relationships with students, families, and staff Strong organizational skills, patience, and flexibility Ability to nurture a classroom community that supports all learners Montessori experience and certification are preferred but are not required.
