Job Description
LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE ELEMENTARY TEACHER VACANCY
The following position is posted in accordance with the negotiated agreement:POSITION
1.0 FTE Long-Term Substitute Elementary TeacherREQUIRED CERTIFICATION
NYS Certification Childhood Education Gr. 1-6 REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to deliver high-quality, engaging instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards.
- Strong understanding of foundational literacy and mathematics skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of all learners.
- Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment.
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to use student data to inform instruction and monitor student progress.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, families, and administrators.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and contributing positively to the school community.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned to NYS Learning Standards.
- Create a positive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development.
- Differentiate instruction to meet students' various developmentally appropriate needs.
- Maintain effective classroom management and establish clear routines and expectations.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in grade-level, school, and district professional development opportunities.
- Foster an inclusive, hands-on, and welcoming environment that values diversity and equity.
