Overview Join our dedicated team as a First Steps 4K Teacher, where you will play a vital role in nurturing the early development of young children through engaging, high-quality preschool education. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence children's growth, foster a love for learning, and collaborate with families and community partners to ensure every child's success. As a 4K Teacher, you will create a vibrant classroom environment that promotes social-emotional skills, literacy, math readiness, and physical development, setting the foundation for lifelong learning. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to early childhood development standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Create an engaging classroom environment that supports child-centered learning through hands-on activities and play-based instruction. Monitor and assess each child's developmental progress using standardized testing tools and observational methods to inform instruction. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school partnerships. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, lesson plans, and other documentation required for program accountability. Experience Prior experience working with children in early childhood education settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private schools. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored for preschool-aged children with an understanding of childhood development principles. Knowledge of special education needs and early intervention strategies to support diverse learners. Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively while fostering a safe and nurturing environment. Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Experience implementing behavior management techniques and maintaining classroom discipline positively. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is highly valued.
