Overview We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Long-Term Kindergarten Substitute Teacher to join our elementary team. This role involves providing consistent, high-quality instruction across various an assigned grade level and subject areas, ensuring a seamless learning experience for students during the absence of their regular teacher. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, classroom management, and curriculum development, with a passion for fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic, social, and spiritual development while working within a supportive educational community. Responsibilities Deliver lesson plans in accordance with curriculum standards across multiple subjects including literacy, math, and social studies. Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students, incorporating instructional strategies suitable for different learning styles. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Implement classroom management techniques that promote positive student engagement and discipline. Assess student progress through observations, assignments, and tests; provide feedback to students and collaborate with staff on student development. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and behavioral reports. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding student performance and classroom activities. Incorporate specialized instructional methods and strategies when applicable. Support student needs by applying behavior management techniques and working with specialists when necessary. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects diverse backgrounds and abilities. Requirements Prior experience in teaching, preferably within private Christian schools. Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques. Experience working with children of various age groups, including preschoolers and students requiring special education support such as autism or literacy interventions. Familiarity with instructional strategies for childhood development Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students. Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and grade levels. Demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere that encourages growth and curiosity. Must possess a degree in elementary education and preferably have a state teaching license.
