Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team at Unionville Elementary as a Grade 2 Teacher. In this full-time position, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for our second-grade students. You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive curriculum that promotes academic growth, social development, and a love of learning. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student success, collaboration with colleagues, and effective communication with parents and guardians. Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, creativity, and critical thinking. Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal evaluations, providing timely feedback to students and parents. Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to design and participate in school-wide initiatives and activities. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns. Foster a culture of respect and inclusivity within the classroom, addressing any behavioral issues with appropriate interventions. Utilize various instructional strategies and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and contribute to the school community. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Requirements Bachelor's degree Valid teaching certification for elementary education or willing to obtain Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies for young learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Proficient in using technology for instructional purposes and classroom management. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment. Previous teaching experience in a Grade 2 classroom is preferred but not required.
