Job Description:

The Department of Physical Sciences, Engineering, and Technology at DCC invites applications for part-time faculty to teach in our Engineering program. The department is searching for an instructor for the spring semester to teach one or more of the following course(s): ENR 204•Mechanics of Materials (2 lecture contact hours/week and 2 lab contact hours/week)

Days and Times:

Lecture:

Mondays 2:00-3:50 PM;

Lab:

Wednesdays 2:00-3:50

Main Campus in Poughkeepsie ENR 209•Mechanics of Materials (3 lecture contact hours/week)

Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-7:45

Main Campus in Poughkeepsie ENR 102•Computer Programming for

Engineers Days and Times:

Lecture:

Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30-12:20 AM and 2:00-3:50

PM Method:

Traditional/In-Person Location:

Main Campus in Poughkeepsie Part-time faculty teach assigned class material in accordance with learning objectives developed by the department.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering Official transcripts required upon hire. High School Teaching Certification OR experience teaching college-level engineering courses OR 5 years' experience training/teaching and evaluating the performance of others in a professional setting Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or PhD. in Mechanical Engineering Experience teaching at the college level, particularly at a community college. Experience using a Learning Management System such as Brightspace, Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, etc. A commitment to diversity and an understanding of how diversity impacts learning and instruction.
