Job Description

Edustaff in partnership with Jackson College is seeking a qualified part-time English instructor to work at Gus Harrison Correctional Facility in Adrian, Michigan. Candidate will be employed by Edustaff who oversees your pay. Jackson College will provide supervision with the worksite begin located at 2727 East Beecher Street, Adrian, MI 49221.

Description Summary:

The English instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and supporting student success in assigned courses. This is an intensive writing course. Analytical and persuasive modes are stressed. Advanced research writing strategies are used. Database and primary research methods are emphasized.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree or higher in English OR a master's degree or higher in another field with 18 graduate credits in

English Essential Functions:
Instruction:

Teach assigned English courses in accordance with the approved syllabus and learning outcomes.

Course Preparation:

Develop lesson plans, assignments, and instructional materials aligned with departmental standards.

Assessment:

Evaluate and provide timely, constructive feedback on student work; maintain accurate grading records.

Student Support:

Respond to student communications and refer students to campus support services when appropriate.

Classroom Management:

Foster an inclusive, respectful learning environment and enforce academic integrity and conduct policies.

Administrative Responsibilities:

Submit attendance, grades, and other required documentation by established deadlines.

Compliance:

Adhere to institutional policies, accreditation standards, and applicable federal/state regulations. Adjunct instructors may also participate in limited departmental meetings or professional development activities as requested.
