Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic student to join our STEAMworks Center (SWC) team as a FWS student worker. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with faculty, staff, and students, providing support and assistance with various maker projects. You will play a crucial role in facilitating a productive and collaborative learning environment within the SWC labs. Additional Information In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information prior to applying to a Federal Work-Study job. FWS is a need-based, federally funded program. FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office. FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program. The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals. For more detailed information, please go to the MCCCD Federal Work-Study Website Essential Functions Assist faculty/staff in setting up and operating lab equipment and tools. Provide technical support and guidance to students working on SWC projects. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the SWC lab, ensuring all equipment and materials are properly stored. Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues or malfunctions, escalating complex problems to appropriate personnel. Monitor and document lab usage, ensuring compliance with lab policies and procedures. Assist in the procurement and inventory management of lab supplies and materials.
