Rank and appointment will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative faculty dedicated to excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship while advancing preventive medicine, herd health, epidemiology, and One Health through partnerships with Oklahoma's state and federal animal health agencies, beef cattle and food animal industries, practicing veterinarians, and producers.
Required qualifications include:
D.V.M. (or equivalent veterinary degree) from an AVMA-accredited institution. M.S. in Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine, or a Master of Public Health (MPH).
Preferred qualifications include:
Ph.D. in epidemiology Experience or advanced training in herd preventive health management, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Board certification in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Large Animal), the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Beef Cattle or Dairy Practice), or equivalent specialty certification. Diplomate status or eligibility for Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine-Epi (ACVPM). Primary Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to: Teach veterinary epidemiology, preventive medicine, and related subjects in the professional veterinary curriculum. Participate in activities of the Center for Rural Veterinary Medicine. Provide consultation and expertise in herd health management, disease prevention, and outbreak investigations. Contribute to graduate education through mentoring and participation in the College's graduate curriculum. Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities. Research Opportunities Research expectations will be tailored to the faculty assignment and individual career goals. Candidates with interests in interdisciplinary and collaborative research within a One Health framework are especially encouraged to apply. These collaborations create opportunities for applied research in population health, disease surveillance, biosecurity, and emerging infectious diseases.
