JOB SUMMARY

The Success Center Coordinator oversees daily academic support activities and operations of the Success Center at all locations.

MAJOR DUTIES

Oversee the management and daily operations of the Success Center at all locations. Plan and develop goals, policies and procedures for Success Center operations and activities. Supervise and coordinate contracts and work schedules of Instructional Support Specialists at assigned locations. Develop and implement interventions that increase student success, based on research and best practices, including identifying and reaching out to targeted student groups. Monitor the use of the Success Center utilizing academic center management software. Monitor the status of early alert referrals and coordinates follow-up services with students. Assist with the development and implementation of the college's student retention efforts, especially for academically underperforming students. Collaborate with academic and student affairs to identify retention action plans for targeted populations. Market Success Center services and hours of operations to students, faculty, staff, and college administration. Serve on college committees such as retention committee; attend seminars, workshops, conferences, and work groups as appropriate. Inform Dean of Academic Affairs of any conflicts/ issues which impede Success Center operations. Assist grant coordinators with preparation of quarterly and annual grant performance reports. Offer NOCTI testing once per term through the Success Center. Perform any other related duties as required.

COMPETENCIES

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of and skill in long-range and short-range planning, program development, and program evaluation. Knowledge of student success and retention initiatives, outreach strategies, and marketing techniques. Ability to travel within and out of state as required. Good decision-making and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of common operating systems (Windows 8 and 10) and software applications (Microsoft Office Suite). Good organization skills with keen attention to details.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in counselor education, counseling psychology, higher education administration, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Three to five years' work experience in an educational environment with culturally diverse and/or at-risk student populations. Two to four years' experience with program administration and development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience coordinating outreach programs and implementing student/academic support activities in a community or technical college setting. Demonstrated public speaking experience. Experience with an enterprise student information system (e.g., BANNER) and academic center management/service tracking software (e.g. AccuCampus).

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
