Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing nonprofit at a pivotal time and play a meaningful role in expanding the impact of mental health education. Location Requirement Candidates must reside within approximately 100 miles of Boston, Massachusetts to support periodic in-person program delivery, meetings, outreach, conferences, and other organizational activities. Position Summary Mental Health Collaborative (MHC) is seeking a Program Manager who is energized by building relationships, developing programs, and turning opportunities into meaningful community impact. This role offers the opportunity to help shape the next phase of MHC's growth—expanding our reach, strengthening partnerships, supporting an experienced team of trainers, and ensuring the continued quality of our Mental Health Essentials programs. The Program Manager will help drive program growth and strengthen partner relationships while working collaboratively with a small, mission-driven team. This role provides variety, including building relationships with schools and organizations, supporting trainers, and contributing to program and curriculum development. The Program Manager will periodically facilitate MHC trainings, both virtually and in person, providing an important connection to our programs, participants, and communities. The role offers an opportunity to bring new ideas forward and help shape how MHC expands access to high-quality mental health literacy education. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of equity-centered approaches to ensure programs and partnerships are responsive, inclusive, and accessible. This is a grant-funded position supported by a three-year funding commitment. MHC anticipates this role will continue as an ongoing full-time position beyond the initial grant period. This role includes a thoughtful onboarding process with training, shadowing, and a gradual assumption of responsibilities to support long-term success. Mental Health Collaborative is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We value a range of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences and encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply. Required Qualifications Motivated by a mission-driven environment, with a passion for improving mental health education. Master's degree in behavioral health or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in program management, program growth, training, program delivery, or related areas. Understanding of equity-centered approaches. Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively. Experience with performance management. Preferred Qualifications Experience with mental health literacy, social-emotional learning (SEL), behavioral health education, prevention programming, or related educational initiatives. Familiarity with school systems, workplace wellness initiatives, or community-based organizations. Comfort using customer relationship management (CRM) systems, learning management systems (LMS), virtual training platforms, and digital tools, including Google Workspace, Zoom, WebEx, Arlo, HubSpot, or similar platforms. Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus. Work Environment Mental Health Collaborative values collaboration, trust, and balance. We are a supportive, experienced team of professionals who work in a casual, respectful, and mission-driven environment.
