General Summary of Position:
This being a promotional opportunity, only current UML Employees with the same Bargaining unit are eligible to apply for this position. The Associate Director, Student Employment provides leadership and oversight of UMass Lowell's robust student employment program, including federal, institutional, and community-based employment opportunities. The Associate Director ensures compliance with federal/state financial aid regulations and established institutional policy and procedures, promotes the importance of providing students with meaningful work and career-connected experiences, and strives to continuously improve the student employment program. This Associate Director supervises both permanent and student employees and serves as a primary contact for on-campus and off-campus employers and supervisors to resolve problems and to provide information and training on the student employment program. Minimum Qualifications (Required): Bachelor's Degree required 8 years' full-time experience in higher education, with at least 4 years in student employment Knowledge of federal financial aid regulations Demonstrated experience with employment regulatory compliance Supervisory experience Ability to work with diverse populations Strong organizational skills and flexibility to adjust to changing priorities Ability, knowledge, and skills necessary to use and train others on an online student employment management system, such as JobX Functional experience with an integrated Student Information Systems required; expertise with PeopleSoft Student Administration System preferred Experience with a Customer Relationship Management platform, with Salesforce experience preferred
Additional Considerations:
Master's degree preferred Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite Excellent interpersonal and public communications skills Relevant professional experience in program coordination, data management, and/or relationship management Ability to motivate and instruct others in effective and efficient ways Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed Understanding of technology to deliver student financial aid Embrace technology and appreciate how to use it to enhance service to students Special Instructions to
