OUT-OF-DISTRICT COORDINATOR
PART-TIME , DISTRICT WIDE Serves as the primary chairperson for Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings for students placed in out-of-district therapeutic day, residential, and collaborative settings, ensuring compliance with Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) regulations. Acts as the central liaison between the home school district, specialized out-of-district schools, families, and state agencies - such as The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and Department of Mental Health (DMH) - to coordinate wrap around student services. Conducts regular on-site visits to specialized placements to evaluate student progress, ensure the implementation of the IEP, and continually assesses readiness for reintegration into a less restrictive public-school environment. Manages the out-of-district referral and intake process, including compiling comprehensive student profiles, submitting referral packets, and facilitating admissions meetings for students requiring highly restrictive environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree or higher; DESE license required: Special Education teacher, special education administrator, and/or principal; Proficient with implementation of Federal/State laws and regulations related to Special Education and Civil Rights; Cultural Responsiveness and a growth mindset with students, families, and staff are a must. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as effective problem-solving skills.
